Haircuts

adelyn got a teeny weeny trim....sniff sniff....

but mostly we just pretended to cut her hair and curled it anyway... ;)

and elena got a trim too...

hair cut

we made this appointment months ago, but i was still apprehensive to cut my babies' hair! e on the left, ad on the right....

e has had 2 trims; and they were barely even that. and this would be ad's first haircut! this is the before....

elena was first...

abbie put it in a little pony tail and chopped it off....

we saved it....

adelyn looked on while practicing her letters....

elena even got pixie dust in her hair....

then it was ad's turn....and she was all smiles!

after abbie confirmed her hair is in perfect condition we decided NOT to give miss ad her first haircut! so abbie pretended to cut it....

and then curled it for her....

it looked so sweet....

and of course a little pixie dust....

elena's before and after....her hair feels and looks so much healthier now! she was a bit upset at first, as she really loves long hair....but she now says she loves it and we're excited that it can grow at the same length! no more V! those sides just aren't growing!

and ad's NON-hair cut....super cute curls! we'll schedule the first haircut in another year or so. :)

e's first haircut

it's just all hitting at once. our baby is turning 3 in such a short time now. we've been signed up for dance class for awhile, which starts in september. we have our first dentist appointment scheduled for just before her birthday. we've gone back and forth and back and forth about sending her to a 3 year old preschool program this fall for months and are now having a change of heart and thinking she would really benefit from it. AND we just got our first haircut!

and yes, i'm saying 'we' for everything 'cuz as the momma, i feel like i'm going through everything way more than my baby.

i shitunot i took a picture of adelyn's hair cause it was blowing crazy in the wind and frankly, it reminded me of a toilet flushing...
i shitunot adelyn looks ridiculously adorable in her new raincoat and sunglasses...
my dad had surgery a few weeks ago and i shitunot elena signed her name perfectly on his cast...
i shitunot i meant to write about my brother tony's and my dad's birthdays that were over a month ago now...
i shitunot little ad won't have any hand-me-downs cause e stains everything. anyone else see the irony in this...
i shitunot elena has to make her 'mad' face for every posed picture...and then she wants to see it. i shitunot adelyn will NOT sit for a posed picture for anything! still trying to get those 1 yr pics!
i shitunot every once in while i get a glimpse of miss e about 13 yrs from now...
i shitunot it wasn't 3 minutes before i snapped this picture that i had scrubbed this room clean! sigh. 3 minutes. i shitunot! i shitunot the day after adelyn's birthday, she discovered how to turn the tv on and off. it's fabulous.
i shitunot i could spend an hour of every day watching elena eat a taco. it's great.

i shitunot i will stop talking about adelyn's first birthday someday...but today is not that day.

i shitunot on adelyn's birthday MINUTE (seriously like the exact minute she was born on her birthday) she stood up by herself from the floor for the first time...it was very cool.
and i shitunot i caught it on film after she did it about 1/2 a dozen times...sideways.

i shitunot in the last few weeks i got my dear husband jason to do 2 things he said he would NEVER EVER do...1) cut the girls' fingernails and 2) buy me a minivan! woot woot!

i'm spent

despite miss elena's NAPLESS week (i still can't believe i'm typing that), bedhead had not escaped her...

in fact...somehow...even though elena went 8 whole days WITHOUT NAPPING, bedhead had been more prevalent than ever.

thanks to her putting vaseline on her itty bitty raw nose...and yep, in her hair...
i mean really...

and the cheese to go along with it...
and the show-off...(please don't stop ignoring the hair. she wants you to get distracted. but don't, that is a big spiral springing from the top of her head.)

oh yea - there it is...the completed wink! niiiiice!
i am happy to report that elena has napped the past 2 days! pray i didn't just jinx it! can i get a "hip hip?"
