you both love love love stickers. and can play with them for hours.

you put stickers in every corner of your paper; you put stickers on your face.

you ask to go bye bye 5 x's a day; you drag your feet getting out the door like a teenager.

when i catch you being too quiet it's because you are looking in the mirror at yourself, sometimes talking to yourself; when i catch you being too quiet it's because you are eating a tube of chapstick, emptying a wipe container, trying to cover up a mess you made OR all of the above.

you eat everything and then ask for more; you eat 3 bites and EXPECT a treat.

you both love movies, books and baby dolls. we need nothing else.

you love to play card/board games; you love to play with card/board game pieces, often losing some.

you cry to be held; you cry, um, at everything lately.

you could be the queen of drama; and so could you.

you usually talk in complete sentences; you usually talk in a 15 year old tone.

you give excuses, very elaborate excuses, all the time; you say NO all the time.

you both want to be the first to do whatever it is were doing.

you often want to do everything all by yourself; you often become helpless and want things done for you even though you've been doing things by yourself for quite some time.

you wear the same flower headband, skirt, a few necklaces and rings every day; you wear the same black hat, tu-tu and as many necklaces as you can find every day.

you scribble and say "ta da" so proudly when you color; you make a dozen "cards" and hand them out so thoughtfully when you color.

you both set the table every night, taking turns with who does the napkins and silverware. you both do the plates/bowls.

you want to be held A LOT; you want to be held when you see her being held.

you have such an imagination are pretending some wild scenarios; you pretend to be leaving all the time.

you both make us laugh all.the.time.

you cry/whine in time out; you refuse to say sorry after time out.

you bite; you yell.

you both are typically very well behaved when out and about.

you boss; you don't listen.

you prefer hugs; you prefer kisses.

you both make life so much more fun...and worthwhile. thank you BOTH.

rocking twenty eleven

we have been rocking 2011. our girls have been on such good behavior that jo frost would be taking notes. and good behavior = fun activities and smiles on all our faces!

it started with elena scoring some major smiley faces on her responsibility chart. and good behavior deserves to be rewarded!

they got a trip to hobby lobby to pick out a craft. everything was singing valentine's day, so we went with it...

finished project...

movie nights...the highlight of our week, really.

right after we ring in the new year, we celebrate daddy's birthday!

of course, some things never change...

we are still spending 90% of our time just being silly...

playing around in our comfy clothes...

and loving on each other...

oh, and of course we are still awesome at getting dizzy... it'll be 2021 before this gets old. ;)

right now - feb 2010

my days are routine. very routine. we do the same things, go the same places, etc. but obviously as my girls are a-growin' there are slight changes that happen all.the.time. so in my efforts to freeze time with my girls, i'm going to start making lists of our everydays....right now. and update every few months or whatever.

i think it would've been hilarious to read some "right now's" 5 years ago, 3 years ago, a year ago, even a few months ago - you get the idea. and it will be neat to see how they change.

so....

right now, everyday...i have to pry ad's mouth open and fish something out. fuzz, paper, carpet piece, you name it.

right now, everyday...i have a power struggle with elena over vaseline or chapstick. elena's face is chapt and she desperately needs it. often. but she wants to put it on herself and well, that doesn't always go as it should.

right now, everyday...i find adelyn's-bite-sized pieces of food in her diaper. undigested. they somehow slip behind her bib and under her clothes and end up in the waistline of her diaper.

right now, everyday...i listen to elena close a door behind her and start yelling, "hello?! hello?! i can't hear you! hello?!" i find it hilarious, although she does NOT mean to be. i'm sure i will be hearing this often in just a few years with a different motive than just her innocent experimenting.

right now, everyday...i make at least one meal (sometimes all 3) with both babes at my feet. both are typically fussing, whining and depantsing me. i swear they eat...a lot and often.

right now, all the time...i am trying to think of ways to save time, save money and save the earth. i suppose if i had any of those truly answered, i'd be a gazillionaire, huh?! but you know what i mean - for us.

right now, all the time...i am thinking of baby names. no i am not pregnant. and we don't even discuss names until the very end of my pregnancies. but that has not stopped me from thinking of names. they are mostly girl names.

right now, all the time...i am making lists in my head. grocery lists, errand lists, to do lists, wish lists, baby name lists, etc.

right now, everyday...we have from 11am-1pm & from 3:30pm-6:30pm to "do stuff." and often that proves difficult cuz of lunch and dinner.

right now, every time we're out...both girls get their eyes oooh'd & ahhh'd over. and ad's cheeks get a lot of comments as well. :)

right now...elena is ALL about loving on and helping adelyn. she is a little mother hen.

right now...adelyn is ALL about watching and admiring everything elena does. she laughs sooo hard at everything she does and HAS to know what she's doing. but she often pushes her doting sister off of her and would much rather parallel play then be snuggled.

right now...bed time for the girls is 7pm. therefore j and i get some downtime.

right now...i check my email daily and glance at facebook often, but am not that active on either.

right now...i'm totally into the bachelor and american idol.

right now...i read about 10 pages every other night and it takes me f o r e v e r to get thru a book.

right now, every time we're out...adelyn wants to get down and crawl around everywhere. she can only stand to be held for so long.

right now, every time we're out...elena gets a little risky and wants to wander.

right now...i am liking wine!!
