big girl

my little adelyn is becoming a such a big girl. just in the last week she is really getting a personality. she's starting to really appreciate the toys and the rest of her surroundings. she's batting at her toys and has been bringing them up to her mouth. she's still such a happy baby and loves to talk. i've gotten her to laugh just a few times and it's the best thing!! she even slept through the night last night....12 1/2 hours!!! you go girl!

"you come here to me...."

"i will get you...."

"gotcha!"

sitting like a big girl with the boppy...

and watching tv of course...

"get in my belly..."

and a little laugh....

soup

we made it to the twisty freeze for the first time this summer last weekend. j and i's favorite place to dine! seriously. and miss elena is no longer too naive.....

she got to enjoy some sugar-free mango yogurt....

i think she's happy about it....

miss adelyn will have to wait awhile longer....unless her telepathic powers allow otherwise. she's sure trying.

the smile didn't leave elena's face....

except to eat it!! yummmmmmmmm!!

when we left elena started whining for more "soup." soup? it took us a minute to realize she was referring to her much melted ice cream that she didn't get anywhere near finishing. we made this huge deal that she was actually getting ice cream and she demotes it to soup! no worries elena, mom and dad can't go too long without their frozen yogurt fix.

mommy 101

you learn in mommy 101 that you are NOT to compare your children! not to any other children. and especially siblings!! what a no no!!! well yea - whatever. truth be told - ya just do! from the moment you get pregnant, you start comparing. not good vs. better, but same vs. different. we all know each human being is unique and a complete individual... blah, blah, blah. we are really all the same, but different. different, but the same.

when adelyn was born, right away people started comparing her looks to elena's. it seems everyone remembered elena being born with those light eyes, skin and hair. not so. anyway - you be the judge. cuz here, by popular demand, are some comparison pictures of their first few months.

my verdict = the same, but different. different, but the same. definitely related. and of course, both gorgeous. and i'm not biased at all....

kodak moment.....not

so if ya know me at all, i'm rarely without my camera. if i could i would capture just about every moment possible. i love photographs. and while i certainly prefer the 'cute' ones that are how i want to remember it....i also get the very no-so-kodak-moments that are often more typical with 2 little ones. i want them to look back and be able to 'see' all kinds of moments we had!

"i said no more wire hangers!!"

"mom, where's my knee???"

i think she was asking for some grey poupon....oh, and giving the bird.

she's trying to walk while holding the baby between her knees...i have no idea why.

and she's upset that she can't...

got herself in a bit of a pickle...

and can't quite get out...

um yea - one was done...

kiss kiss

some start the kiss from afar...

some give kisses on the hand...

some give kisses on the forhead...

some give kisses on the cheek...

some give kisses on both cheeks...

some give kisses on the lips...

and some, well, they're still learning a kiss from their thumb...

bag lady/baby lady

insert octomom joke here. there are actually 2 more babies burried in there. and don't worry, adelyn will not be joining elena's baby doll collection.

taking after my bed head. woot.
