4th weekend

wow, what a fun long weekend! we have literally been going non-stop since thursday. my girls have eaten more sugary snacky sweet definitely not a part of our regular diet foods in the last 5 days probably than in their entire lives. my girls have stayed up past 10pm every night in the last 5 days which is a good 3 hours past their usual bedtime. my girls slept in every morning by 1-3 hours for the last 5 days. my girls have not necessarily been properly dressed for the particular activity they engaged in for the last 5 days. my girls have worn so much sunscreen and bug spray and glow sticks and cheap themed gear in the last 5 days that it'd be near impossible to not have absorbed some toxins. my girls have not been properly bathed every night to get the said toxins off for the last 5 days.

and i have to say...i didn't care (too much) and it's been quite liberating. [insert big sigh here]

so...sweet treats, late late nights, sponge baths and complete fun - let's get to it, huh!!?

day 1 - it started thursday with swimming all day at the pool. then thursday night the girls were catching lightening bugs with some friends. it was an impromptu get together and it was really endearing seeing the girls explore.
day 2 - friday we again went swimming at the pool. friday night was a pizza party with our friends and off to the fireworks!! e was ready...

ella, brody, adelyn and elena...
sparklers...
and the firworks started!! e was loving it!!!
ad not so much...she saw the first few...
and then buried her head...screaming...
e continued to oooh and awwww....
while ad went back and forth between j and i, did stop screaming and we tried to coerce her to at least look...and she did for a second...
but buried herself again. poor ad. that is face first...
well someone enjoyed them at least...
they were taking "pictures" of the fireworks...
day 3 - saturday was filled with errands and a trip to the library. then all afternoon and evening we headed to a cookout... filled with awesome food, awesome friends, kids getting along, playing organized games, many laughs, kids running thru sprinklers in their underwear, cocktails for the adults and of course freeze pops for the kiddos...

day 4 - sunday we swam all day at a friend's house! that night we headed to see more fireworks...cautiously. the girls got to see uncle t-bone and were again working some firework gear...

yes, these sparklers were ordered extra long...

e was ready, of course....

ad did much better this time. only a few winces. she actually ended up falling asleep in my arms for a bit during. we were much further away from them this time....but we had headphones from a friendn- just in case. ;)
day 5 - monday we again swam at a friend's house all day. i don't have any pictures, but we all enjoyed!!! j and i came home and put the girls down at a decent time and cooked out!

ahhh. really so much fun. but looking forward to a more normal schedule around here....i know it will take some time for the girls to recover. wish us luck. ;)
