your birthday weekend

when you woke up saturday we took you right to your gift from us. in your pj's and bedhead. you looked and said, "down" with a straight face.
so down you went...
to your present...
you were beside yourself...had no clue what to think, what to do...
until you tried everything out...



adelyn loved her swing...



you loved her swing too...


then we painted our nails - all of them. finger and toe nails. you sat really still and did great. after you kept asking, "can i walk now?" i would say yes and you would ask, "with my feet?" cuz you were trying to let them dry.

then we got a special delivery...flowers from cousins heidi and shane...asking you to be their FLOWER GIRL!!!! your face lit up when you said "flower girl." you have no clue right now, but this is an honor you will treasure forever!
they sent me some gorgeous flowers too...
after nap, all your family came over. all your grandparents, your two uncles and most of your great-grandparents. and we got no pictures of them. in fact, we really did not get a lot of pictures at all. :( (hoping others did!) your sister was a tad overwhelmed and you were busy playing. we ate pizza and let you open your gifts...you got money for your savings...
lots of clothes for fall and winter...princess dress-up clothes too...
kitchen stuff...
an american girl bitty baby...with matching pj's for you...
a fishing pole...
you loved opening everything...and you did super doing it...
a princess lunchbox filled with princess goodies...
then we brought out your cake...you stared into that flame and sat there...even though we practiced all week blowing out a candle...you sat...and just stared at it...
so we took the candle away and you helped yourself...

you devoured your cake...shocker...you've come a long way from your first birthday when you wouldn't touch it...

and went back to playing...pushing sissy on the swing...


and tried out your new basketball hoop...
and t-ball set...
us with uncle e and uncle t-bone...
you gave your slide a hug goodnight...
wow. i cannot believe you are 2! we have a 2 year old!!
sunday, our actual birthday, we spent hanging out as a family! we played with all your new toys! we had pizza and cake again and you were willing to blow out your candle! and for the first time in 2 years you went without any naps! you had a super fun weekend and we so enjoyed just soaking you in...our little 2 year old!!!
