and the award goes to....

today...

i picked up ad's top lip to show off tooth #3 to my family and whoop - another tooth! her top left has broke and is comin' on through! i came home and pointed it out to j as if i had been on top of it the whole time. so glad i caught that one.

then, we headed to the mall where a sales clerk asked elena if she was ready for santa claus to come. her response? a mini meldown. she started yelling, "no! i don't want santa! nooooooo! i just wanna go home!" despite being in daddy's arms and much reassurance that we were NOT seeing santa from me. she whined the rest of our shopping trip about a not-happening santa encounter. so glad i can make her feel secure.

after shopping and lunch i was reading the newspaper when elena walked in the room and said, "no mommy. you don't read daddy's paper....that's ridiculous." so glad the sharing concept that i've been trying to instill for 2+ years has kicked in...accompanied with attitude.

then after nap we were hanging out and adelyn became a babbling fool. mostly ba's and da's. she correctly called daddy "da da" dozens of times. even though he's been working up to 18 hr days 7 days a week and i've been the only one caring for her for, oh, the last 4+ weeks. so glad i make such an impression that "da da" was her first 'word.'

after some more hanging out, said da da spilled some of his water on the couch. and withoutmissingabeat miss elena yelled out, "OH SH!T!" soooo glad she has such a vast vocabularly and is able to use it appropriately.

so, without further ado...today's mother of the day award goes to...

you guessed it, muah!

i think when both girls are in bed by 6:20 on sunday night, it's confirmed that it's been an exhausting long weekend!
