gone golfin'

last weekend j and i made a last minute decision to go golfing one evening. we are always really spontaneous like that...ha. no. no, we are not. but j got the itch and frankly, my kids are at an age where i could use some fresh air and a drink at any given time, so....golfing it was. i'm told kids don't ever really grow out of that 'age' either. hmmm.

j's been getting out quite a bit....or at least more than the last 3 summers. which is good. for him.
it was the first time i've been out since summer 2006! and not to toot my own horn, but (toot toot!!) my 7 iron is still superb. (toot toot!!) seriously.
there's my ball. i believe j's was, ahem, behind mine somewhere. :P and (toot toot!!) it took my one perfectly arched shot to get on the green up there. :)
of course once my ball gets on the green, i should just return to the cart and drink. apparently from gross filthy koozies. ewww. i made one putt the whole time. and (toot toot!!) it was impressive. but otherwise i'm walking back and forth across the green anywhere from 4 to 18 times. i truly don't know my own strength. psssshhhhhh! my aim is decent. my depth perception is severly lacking.
regardless, it was really great to get out. get fresh air. play old sport. spend time with each other.
