oh my gosh, my big girl had her FIRST day of school yesterday!!
just waking up...

getting ready to go....

strike the 'first day of school' pose...

getting in the car...

buckeling herself in...

walking into school....(cue proud/denying/emotional momma tears here)

hanging her backpack...

her favorite thing in the classroom, the dollhouse...

her second favorite, the wash machine...

e's class has 14 children, she is the youngest. 7 of the kids are almost a whole year older than her. she wrote her name on the sign-in sheet, only kid to legibly do it. she walked in like a champ. 3 of her peers were freaking out. teachers said elena had a "great day." e cried at the very end of the day cuz her teacher told her to sit down when she tried to make a run out the door to me (i was waiting to pick her up and she got excited when she saw me). she always cries when she gets embarassed. lanie said her favorite part was "walking in a circle" (at song time) and "playing at the park" (recess). the teacher tried to push her on the swings and elena said she told her, "no, i can pump by myself." e's excited to go again!
pretty surreal to "have one in school." especially when just a month ago i was set on waiting for another year. it's obvious she really likes it and i'm happy with our change of heart.

So exciting! Glad everything worked out for you, mom....no doubts about Elena, she's a rock star! Charlie is at his first full day now. I keep looking at the clock wondering when I get to go pick him up and hear how everything went.
Woo hoo, Elena!!! I don't love that she was embarrassed and cried (poor girl just wanted to get to her mama!) but everything else sounds great!!
Yay! Big girl! She looks so proud of herself. What type of preschool is she attending? Ellie's first day is two weeks from today. (sniff, sniff)
