- adelyn, one of the biggest changes in the last 3 months is that you are NO longer potty trained. yep. you were potty trained for five whole weeks and slowly started refusing wearing underwear and having accidents. :( it kinda worried me at first...and drove me crazy. but i'm over it and i'm trusting you'll let me know when you're ready to try again. you go on the potty anywhere from 2 times to 12 times a day.
- you now sit for books. several at a time. you love to read.
- you count to 11. you always have them in the correct order, but sometimes skip 3. you do always count really really fast after 3.
- you say your abc's, although sometimes stop at p. it's so super cute. you definitely have all the letters down, but it's so sweet the way you mumble them all together.
- you want what you want when you want it. and that when is always right now. you're persistent. you're demanding. and you hate no for an answer.
- you're still very attached to mommy. very. i still like it. a lot.
- you love to dance and jump.
- you dress yourself and undress yourself. you need help with your shirts sometimes.
- you LOVE caillou. i'm convinced you would sit for however long it's on. it's the one thing you sit for and truly truly watch. you request it every time. you also like strawberry shortcake.
- you love your big sis. you're often her little shadow. when you're not it's because you're trying to take whatever it is she has away from her and make it your own. you tackle her...like good, clean tackles. we can't help but laugh. just today you wrapped your little arms around her calves and pushed your shoulder in and took her right down.
- you starting to figure out directions and where we're at around town. so as we're driving you shout out "there's our church," "there's the post office," etc.
- you repeat a lot. you repeat a lot.
- you're a picky eater. you're eating habits are the same. still hit and miss.
- you want to do everything yourself from buttoning your coat to pouring your own juice. you are always yelling out, "i do myself."
- you're obsessed with orange juice. you love love love it and i have to give you a 2 cup limit every day, which is topped about an hour after you wake up.
- you have a really sweet voice, but like to say 'no' to almost everything. you also say 'that's cool' and 'okay' a lot.
- you call my bluff every.single.time. i just can't use that with you, but i always make the mistake when i'm losing my patience and you of course call me out on it. me: "you want to sleep outside, adelyn?" you: "yea!! mommy!! let's sleep outside!" me: "you want to go barefoot, adelyn?" you: "oh yea! i go barefoot!!" and etc etc etc. every time. i'll learn.
- you're very daring. you're a climber and a jumper and love the combination. you love to do courage falls...and you're really awesome at them. like crazy awesome. they make me a bit crazy, but i really should try to get one on video...and then tell you "no more!" like usual.
- you love puzzles and are really good at them. you love to dump out all different puzzle pieces, spread them out and then seperate and piece them all together.
- you get time-outs very often. almost every day. :( you don't really care.
- you have awesome hair. it's long, layered and wavy. stragers comment on your hair all the time and ask how i "do" your hair. you're blessed with very nice hair, ad. they also comment on your eyes all the time. you still have your hazel stripe in your left eye and your platinum blonde steak in the back of your head.
- you love to sing and are usually back up to your sis or me or dad. :)
- you can ride the tricycle. your feet are finally touching the pedals! you just still need to work on steering.
- you're a whopping 24 pounds. you're just tiny with tiny features. you wear 2T and are really just starting to fill it out. you're in a size 6 shoe.
happy 1/2 birthday sweet adelyn!! today for your half birthday we celebrated by going to the pumpkin patch, painting pumpkins and had brownies and ice cream. we sang happy birthday and you blew out your candle.
