at 23 months elena is still very shy and slow to warm up. she takes a good 20-30 mins to come around. once she does she's very silly and likes to show off. singing and dancing take up a good portion of her day. she has a great sense of humor and laughs at everything. everytime she toots she lights up and gets so excited as if her butt is actually talking to her. she's a climber and could live outside. she loves slides, but is scared of swings. she is sassy, impatient and stubborn. she is independent, sweet and thoughtful. she says umprompted 'i love you's.' she rubs your back and gives a quick squeeze when she hugs. she's a little mother to anyone smaller. she LOVES her daddy and little sister. she is just an absolute joy, a big burst of energy and adds immeasurable amounts of laughter to our every day. my sweet elena...

i seriously don't know what to do with that hair...
but those eyes...i love looking in those eyes...
i do love seeing her grow up. i do. but i'd be lying if i said i didn't want her to stay a one-year-old for a awhile longer.
